Eggshell Magic ornaments are truly “One of A Kind”

No two Eggshell Magic ornaments are exactly the same. Each is unique due to distinctive egg shape and the year they were painted. Colors, shading, size, and accent touches will vary. Each duck egg is hand-painted and hand-coated with many layers of acrylic sealer. This creates a glossy glass-like beauty and durability. Any ornament can be dated with the year and the name of the recipient for no additional charge.

Your eggshell ornament will arrive in a white gift box ready for giving. A card describing the hand-painting process and care and storage instructions is included.

Eggshell Magic ornaments are priced at $25 + shipping.  Exceptions are my pet portraits and custom orders. So read my FAQs below. If they don’t answer your question, I’m just an email away!  eggshellmagic@yahoo.com

Eggshell Magic offers this simple guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, just return it within 7 days for a refund. If you experience breakage in shipment, email me immediately. This is an extremely rare occurrence.

Yes, paint on jumbo duck eggs. They are larger than most hen eggs and their shells are thicker and tougher than hen eggs.

For comparison, here is a jumbo duck egg beside a grocery store large hen egg. Eggs are not always oval shaped. Some are fat and round, while some are elongated. The majority have the traditional egg shape. I try to select the egg shape that will best complement the design I paint on it.

A shopping cart with automated charges isn’t a good fit for my product.  I find my customers like to “talk” to me first, mostly via email.   Some orders require several emails before the details are worked out.  You will find that I’m prompt to respond to all inquiries.  I enjoy the personal contact and have acquired many long-term customers whom I consider friends.  You just can’t get that kind of service from a “shopping cart.”

I write on each egg with acrylic ink. The design and amount of space available determines where the personalization is written. Dark eggs are usually personalized using white acrylic ink. White and lighter colored eggs are personalized using black acrylic ink. Examples of personalized ornaments are shown here.

Absolutely.  Just tell me the year and it will be done.

Creating an egg ornament requires a minimum of 10 days from start to finish. It includes preparing the glittery background, glazing with 10 coats, and curing. Then I paint the design. Five additional coats of protective sealer are added, then curing again. The gold plated top and bottom filigrees are added to cover the holes. The final touch is adding the gold cord. DONE!

My eggshells are coated with a minimum of 15 coats of acrylic sealer to strengthen and protect. Care should be taken with your Eggshell Magic ornament just as you would protect your other fine Christmas ornaments. Many of my customers have Eggshell Magic ornaments on their trees dating back to 1980.  I have over 100 eggs on my personal Christmas tree that have survived dogs, cats, and grandchildren. Very few have broken.

It depends on the time of year. If you place your order any time other than “peak” season (Sept-Dec) I will consider your request at no extra charge. If it’s peak season, it will be considered a “custom” order and I will need to charge an extra $5 to change the color. Custom is defined as an ornament I will need to paint, rather one that is already in stock an ready to ship.

My customers tell me they look BETTER than the photos on the website.  I have to reduce the pixels of my images to make them load faster on the web. This reduces image quality.  To read what my customers have written about my eggs, please click Testimonials.

Yes! My number is 205-nine-one-nine-6142. I live in the Central Standard time zone, so please consider the time difference when calling. Once your order is placed, I will email you an electronic invoice. I can also accept a personal check if that is your preference.

Folks will email me to say they have an egg that someone gave them, or they bought at an estate sale, etc., and it was signed “The Egglady.”  I have always signed my eggs with my full name, Susan Willard.  So, if you have an egg signed by “The Egglady,” you can bet I didn’t paint that egg.  However, if you see Susan Willard on it anywhere, then I’m your gal 🙂
